Lords Of Acid – Deep Chills (2012)

Lords Of Acid – Deep Chills (2012) “Deep Chills” is the fifth studio album from the legendary Belgian electro-dance-industrial band Lords of Acid and marks the band’s first studio album in 12 years. With the exception of band founder Praga Khan, “Deep Chills” features an entirely new lineup from previous releases and marks the first time an American vocalist – Mea Fisher (aka DJ Mea) – to take on vocal duties for an album. The album also features guest vocals from porn star Alana Evans on “Pop That Tooshie,” as well as vocals from Zak Bagans, star of Ghost Adventures and host of Paranormal Challenge, on the track “Paranormal Energy”. “Paranormal Energy” have also a quite intriguing story, according to Khan, his studio computer took on a life of its own and began writing its own music. Khan described the experience, stating “While working on a new Lords of Acid track tremendous fear shook my heart as I tried to edit a melody line on my cubase. All of a sudden it felt like the computer came to life, notes started to change position creating a new melody, completely different from the original one.” Khan also declared that the computer was not connected to the internet, so, there was no way his computer could have been hacked.
During the recording session another incident occurred, Read more Lords Of Acid – Deep Chills (2012)

Matryoshka – Laideronnette (2012)

Matryoshka – Laideronnette (2012)Very chill, very trippy, sounds like shattered from a dream and feels like heroin. Rhyming was unintentional and regarding the heroin, I never experienced it, so, probably my perception it’s at least false. And then again this music it’s smooth, floating, heaven-like. I’ve never been in heaven as well, so, I might be wrong again. The music it’s beautiful. We all have a different perception of beauty, but this is really nice. Quite cinematic, smoothly layered and smartly chilled, merging Trip Hop with Dream Pop, and Glitchy IDM with classic music, the Japanese Matryoshka creates a very comfortable and restorative ambiance with their minimalist, but nicely flowing music. The duo it’s made of Sen responsible with the instrumentals while Calu it’s the female vocalist. She’s angel-like singing reminds me mostly of Julee Cruise (probably best known for “Falling”, the theme song for the cult U.S. television series Twin Peaks). They are based in Tokyo, Japan, and this album was released on 12-12-2012 by Virgin Babylon Records, perhaps this is their second album, but my Japanese it’s pretty rusty and I did not manged to dig out any further useful information about them. Lost Reality – Roboid 371304 (2012)

“Roboid 371304” is a concept album which focuses on the affairs of two aliens who for contrasting reasons, are drawn to mankind. As the story goes on, soon becomes clear that aliens and humans are closer to each other than previously imagined.
The music it’s related as style and approach to bands such as IAMX, Imogen Heap, Cut Copy, and generally to the area of Indietronica, IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), Synthpop, with some Rock colours linked back to the 80’s David Bowie and Depeche Mode.
No wobbling, no contorted noises, no twisted metallic blows and drops, this journey filled with spaces, dark vibe and chilled, sometimes Dream Pop flavored moments might sounds for many pretty out-dated, eventually not enough groove oriented, but this retro electronic taste and the futuristic, scifi story it’s the very essence of this concept. Venetian Snares – Affectionate (2012)

Four tracks, five bucks, more than fair enough, released on 11 January 2012, on Aaron’s birthday, now 37 years old, Happy Birthday dude, job well done!
More mature, still glitching and delivering noises, but building up intelligent layers and creating moods by melodies and harmonics, Aaron Funk – aka. Venetian Snares – now seems to focusing more on expression then instinct, relaying more on subtle structures then raging noises.
Funk debuted on a record label in 1999 with the 12″ vinyl EP, “Greg Hates Car Culture” and up until 2007, he was very prolific, releasing as many as eight recordings a year. Prefer to call his own style “Surrealism” rather then “eclecticism” – regarding the mixture of different genres, Aaron’s music evolved and the IDM, EBM elements seems to gain lately dominant position while the Drum & Bass, Noise and Breakcore elements are still present and giving life and cutting edge to his creations. Amon Tobin – Isam (2011)

Crazy, spooky thing. Experimental electronic. Noisy but still soft and abstract. He is best known for his use of sampling, where a small section of a previous recording is manipulated to produce a new sound. It’s a mixture of sounds, noises he’s blending different styles from IDM to drum and bass and from breakbeat to trip hop.

Rotisorul de duminică

Toţi ne înecăm. La mal sau la… Mall.

La cuptorul cu microunde (sonore) am „prăjit” cele mai recente produse semnate: This Drowning Man, Inside Again, Edge Of Dawn, Not Breathing, Veell  şi The Paradise Motel. Read more Rotisorul de duminică
