Liars – Mess (2014)

Liars – Mess (2014)

Liars – Mess (2014) Dance-punk? In the good old days when punk (rock) actually meant something, I mean more then a dress code or a hair style, dance-punk would be an insult or a blasphemy, but those days are long gone and the whole idea was diluted and our perception distorted. There is no more ideology, no moral concepts and generally, no content, substance in the music – and arts – generally.
But Liars it’s a completely different story!
If their previous album, “WIXIW” released in 2012 was a clear move into the electronic/synthetic area of the music, while some critics consider it the “most accessible album to date” by the band. “Mess” bring the experiments and sounds of its predecessor right up to the dancefloor. So, this is dance-punk, but in a very good sense.
And maybe this is not the album of the year – although I love it throughout -, the almost title track of the record, “Mess On A Mission” it’s so far, the song, the anthem of the year. Once you heard it, you can not get rid of it and you will have to sing/scream along: “Facts are fact and fiction’s fiction… A mess on a mission, Mess on a mission!!” Read more Liars – Mess (2014)

No Sugga’

Brushvox - No Sugga'

Brushvox - No Sugga' Sugar is the generalized name for sweet, short-chain, soluble carbohydrates, many of which are used in food. They are carbohydrates, composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. There are various types of sugar derived from different sources. Simple sugars are called monosaccharides and include glucose – also known as dextrose, fructose and galactose. The table or granulated sugar most customarily used as food is sucrose, a disaccharide. In the body, sucrose hydrolyses into fructose and glucose. Other disaccharides include maltose and lactose.
Sugars are found in the tissues of most plants, but are only present in sufficient concentrations for efficient extraction in sugarcane and sugar beet. Sugarcane is any of several species of giant grass in the genus Saccharum that have been cultivated in tropical climates in South Asia and Southeast Asia since ancient times.
The world produced about 168 million tonnes of sugar in 2011. The average person consumes Read more No Sugga’

Belzebass - Welcome To Hell

Belzebass - Welcome To Hell Belzebass? Beelzebub or Beel-Zebub is a Semitic deity and literally it mean “Lord of the Flies”.
The source for the name Beelzebub is in 2 Kings 1:2-3, 6, 16. “Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers, saying to them, “Go and consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if I will recover from this injury. But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’
Ba‘al Zəbûb is variously understood to mean “lord of the flies” or “lord of the (heavenly) dwelling”. Originally the name of a Philistine god, Ba’al, meaning “Lord” in Ugaritic, was used in conjunction Read more Belzebass – Welcome To Hell (Official Video)

Cairoglyphs – The Veil, EP (2014)

Cairoglyphs The Veil EP 2014

Cairoglyphs The Veil EP 2014 Hip hop it’s not actually my cup of tea, but once in a while I’m listening some hip hop as well, have a few favorites and I can appreciate the quality in any genre and style. Cairoglyphs have a cool Oriental/middle East flavor, but the Kansas City based hip-hop artist/producer Ryan Forest merged quite different sounds and styles from dense electronic layers to rap, and from dark, deep house constructions to pounding hip hop beats. Kind of past meets the future, highly danceable, very fluorescent type of music. Dark dance music with content. While IDM and EDM are simply dead labels drained by any meaning and content lately, Ryan Forest proves that the dance music might still have future.
“The Veil”, Ryan Forest debut EP has just been released on Russian Winter Records and by the kindness of the record label we got one, exclusive free track for download, a pretty cool teaser to make you buy the EP. Read more Cairoglyphs – The Veil, EP (2014)

Kerry Leva goes EDM

February 12th, 2013 – Boston producer, pianist, and singer/songwriter Kerry Leva has cemented her path into the dynamic ranks of the EDM world with a trio of original tracks, ‘ Four Eight Two’, ‘The Way Out is Through’, and ‘No Strings Attached’, and remix of Stefan Anions ‘Cosmonaut’.
Gloomy, minimalist and quite danceable, this electronic adventure bring to the surface emotions over the beats and a tasty dose of melodies and mysteries.
She said: “I’m inspired by so many different artists, namely Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Tool…. I started teaching myself various NIN and Radiohead songs on the piano, since I had played from a young age. When I was about to graduate high school, my dad bought me a Roland XP30 synthesizer, and I started messing around with the presets on it…I’ve always loved composing music, so I started by remixing some tracks (including some on which I was a featured vocalist), and then spent the bulk of 2012 producing as much as I could.” Read more Kerry Leva goes EDM
