Thot – Citizen Pain EP (2013)

Thot - Citizen Pain Ep

Thot - Citizen Pain Ep I can think of and go back to several different stories. First of all, reminds me of the story of Cain and Able, the two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain was the first human born and Abel was the first human to die while Cain committed the first murder by killing his brother. On the other hand, directed by Orson Welles release on 5 September 1941, “Citizen Kane” was a drama which explored the life and legacy of the publishing tycoon Charles Foster Kane, played by Welles. Nothing of this are directly related to the latest Thot EP, but then again, everything in this world is somehow related and inter-connected. “Citizen Pain” is in particularly nobody, but he’s everybody and anybody, one of us and each one of us. Even the pain became meaningless nowadays. Or we became insensitive to the suffering of the others… and get comfortable with our own misery. Read more Thot – Citizen Pain EP (2013)

Blush Response – Tension Strategies (2013)

Blush Response Tension Strategies 2013 Blush Response was an electropop group formed sometime around 2000 and featured Billie Schubert, Trevor Gagner and Brandon Flowers, who left the band in 2001 and formed The Killers with Dave Keuning.
This Blush Response have nothing to do with that one. Eventually, it’s just another case of bad choice of name. The solo project of musician Joey Blush is based in New York and was created in 2009 and officially launched in June 2009 with the release of “Reduce You”, a two track release, featuring demo versions of songs.
The debut album, “We Are Replicants” was released in 2010, shortly after followed by the single EPs “Control Freak” and “Impossible”.
Joey Blush remixed Dangerous Muse’s single “I Want It All”, TENSE’s “Disconnect Myself”, iVardensphere’s “Bonedance”, Batillus’s “Cast” and Pouppée Fabrikk’s “H8 U”. In early 2012, he was tapped to add additional synth programming to the new Fear Factory record “The Industrialist”. He also provided a remix for the deluxe edition CD.
The second Blush Response album, “Tension Strategies” was released on March 05, 2013 on Tundra in the US and Haujobb’s label Basic Unit Productions in Europe and Russia. Read more Blush Response – Tension Strategies (2013)

How to Destroy Angels – Welcome Oblivion (2013)

How to Destroy Angels – Welcome Oblivion (2013)

How to Destroy Angels – Welcome Oblivion (2013) Traveling with Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Mariqueen Maandig and Rob Sheridan again. The long anticipated debut album finally it’s here and we’ve got 13 steps to go on, 13 levels of exploration, 13 ways to drowning and surfacing back to the light. Eventually.
About this Reznor’s post Nine Inch Nails project I wrote in details last year when they released their second EP entitled “An OMen”, so, if you’re interested in the full story of the bang, go back an read it HERE. Although, not really surprisingly, “An Omen” made it to my list of favorite releases of 2012 and it was definitively one of the most interesting musical experiments of the last year, a bold and ingenious method to leave the past behind, but staying true to themselves and digging into the wilderness and unknown of the future. How To Destroy Angels – An Omen (2012)

How To Destroy Angels – An Omen (2012) Six new tracks, $5 download in MP3 or lossless format. There is no CD release for this EP, and the 12″ 180-gram vinyl it’s already sold-out. This is the second EP by Mariqueen Maandig, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Rob Sheridan, while their long expected debut album probably will be released next year. Post-Industrial? Sort of, but not quite. How To Destroy Angels it’s an extremely slippery something, not related to any genre or style, but incorporates different musical elements from experimental Trip-Hop to Post-Rock and Post-Industrial explorations. Far away from the contorted and furious expression of anger so typical for Nine Inch Nails, but in some moments similar to the spirit of the 2008’s “Ghosts” series, How To Destroy Angels are in the search for new, unexplored paths, virgin, untouched areas of the music. Quite a temerarious task for 2012, isn’t it? But Reznor once again proves that everything it’s possible with inspiration and boldness. Read more How To Destroy Angels – An Omen (2012)

32crash – Y2112Y (2011)

“Earth, year 2107. …. The average temperature at the surface of the planet raised by 8°C during the ten last decades. Because of its unsustainable heat, he equatorial belt today is improper for inhabitation…”
Picking up where their debut, 2007’s “Weird news from an uncertain future” left off, “Y2112Y” is another twisted journey into the future as Jean-Luc De Meyer see it. “I could have died at three of a unknown malignant virus / I could have died at five of a missile fired by mistake / I almost died at ten during the floodings on Pluto/ At twenty I survived the bombings of the cosmic war / I should have died at thirty when a meteor struck the earth / I nearly died at forty when my spaceship crashed on Mars / But I’m alive today to start my second century”.
And if 32crash doesn’t ring the bell, the name of Jean-Luc De Meyer (the voice of the legendary Belgian EBM band Front 242, but also of several other projects) should. At least if you’re interested in the electro-industrial are of music. Read more 32crash – Y2112Y (2011)

Thomas Giles – Pulse (2011)

“Pulse” is one of the most wonderful and exciting records I had the pleasure to listen this year and I admit it, it was a huge surprise. Tommy Giles Rogers Jr. is the lead singer and founder of the band Between the Buried and Me, one of the leaders of the new – twisted – metal wave, a powerful and extremely creative band wich show a new direction and proved once again: metal is not dead.
“Pulse” is actually the second solo album by Tommy, the first was released back in 2004 under the name Giles. The new material is extremely colorful, impossible to label, crammed in some particular box. And about the influences and different musical roots of Tommy we can get an idea by listening the cover collection released in 2006 under the title “The Anatomy of” by Between the Buried and Me where we have songs by Metallica, Sepultura, Depeche Mode , Queen, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Earth Crises, Blind Melon, Counting Crows, Soundgarden, Faith No More, Motley Crue, Pantera, and Smashing Pumpkins. The Young Gods – Everybody Knows (2010)

– casa unor nume semnificativă al scenei Industrial cum sunt Ministry (şi Revolting Cocks), Front 242, Luc Van Acker, Front Line Assembly, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, PIG, etc.
