Romeo Must Die – Hardships In Season (2011)

Merging classic thrash and hardcore rawness, Romeo Must Die, formed from the ashes of Stampin’ Ground – a band labelled as “a veteran force’ and the UK’s most credible and successful underground band of the last decade” – delivered a long awaited right step debut. “Hardships In Season” with some reminiscences of the too early disappeared Pantera, it’s a pulsing, pumping, crushing album fulfilled with brutal and cutting riffs, raw vocals and incisive rhythmic section. But being simply brutal it’s not quite enough, Romeo Must Die managed to write a couple of good themes and songs, they put together a groovy, powerful and colored material. Adam Frakes-Sime – vocals, Paul Fletcher and Aaron Darling – guitars, Ben Frost – bass and Will Romain – drums, despite their underground status and unwilling to make compromises, seems to find the perfect receipt of the powerful and unleashed modern metal and they looking further to overtake the throne. Blunt Concept – Society Poetry (2011)

It’s always exciting to discover musics from the other end of the world. Blunt Concept comes from the Philippines and they play a kind of blending between more or less traditional heavy metal and rap metal. Kind of Linkin Park jamming with Iron Maiden from ’80-’82. As its trendy now days, they put two guys at the mic, Lux Ayque and Ramon Garcia, one of them singing, the other screaming, Ayi Ayque plays guitars, Ross Perez bass and Alwin Rojas drums. They say about their self: “The music of BLUNT CONCEPT are representations of poetry, individuality, courage over adversity, love and self respect. The band relates social inequality and real life drama to heavy angry music; expressin’ life struggles against the greedy, fake, vain hypocrites; screamin’ STOP NOW!!! to all the corrupt and judgmental characters of our society.” Read more Blunt Concept – Society Poetry (2011)

Amaranthe – Amaranthe (2011)

Amaranthe is a Swedish/Danish power/melodic death metal(core) band formed originally under the name Avalanch by vocalist Jake E. Lundberg and guitarist/keyboard player Olof Morck and the project began taking shape when singers Elize Ryd, (screaming) vocalist Andy Solvestrom and drummer Morten Lowe joined the band. They has released one 4-song demo on their MySpace profile, entitled “Leave Everything Behind” in 2008. In 2009 they change their name into the actual Amaranthe due to legal issues. They singed to Spinefarm/Universal Records and  recorded during the summer of 2010 their debut album which was released on April 13th 2011 and it contains 12 intense, but melodious songs.
Actually the ace in the sleeves of this band is the ability to blend the classic heavy/power elements with modern, death and metalcore sounds and approach.Elize Ryd can sing like Agnetha Fältskog (Abba), but the guys bring force, energy and power and this mixture actually it sounds fresh and pretty convincing. Asking Alexandria – Reckless And Relentless (2011)

Expected to be released tomorrow, on April 5, 2011 through Sumerian Records the second studio album by English metalcore band Asking Alexandria consisting of 12 brand new songs, rocks hard. The so-called euro trance twists are still there, but they turn them into much heavier, industrial like sound, the band seems very determinate to kick big this time. They have actually a pretty busy agenda taking over the clubs one by one promoting their new album in US and from the end of the month they will return to UK and Europe and they will play constantly the whole summer spending their time on tour and hitting all the major festivals. “Reckless And Relentless” is an intense, powerful release and Asking Alexandria took a winning step further. Generally speaking, the second album of any artist/band is the most decisive one, the one that proof – or not – if the band previous success was deserved or only an accident of conjunctures. Between The Buried And Me – The Parallax Hypersleep Dialogues (2011)

Expected to be released on April 12, 2011, through the band’s new label, Metal Blade Records, “The Parallax Hypersleep Dialogues” consist of three brand new songs and the material is over 30 minutes, so this extended play will mainly satisfy all the band’s fans for the two years of waiting. It’s true, meanwhile Tommy Giles Rogers Jr.- the lead singer and founder – of the band released his brilliant second solo album “Pulse” earlier this year, in February, also through Metal Blade.
Thomas and his band mates – Dan Briggs – bass guitar, Blake Richardson – drums, percussion, Paul Waggoner – lead guitars and Dustie Waring – rhythm guitars – made the conscious decision to preclude a studio album with an extended play in addition to being part of a concept album series, so probably we will hear other new materials from them pretty soon. Ektomorf – Redemption (2010)

„Redemption” vine după „What Doesn’t Kill Me…” de anul trecut Read more Ektomorf – Redemption (2010)
