Sepultura – Kairos (2011)

The departure of Max Cavalera back in 1996 shaken the foundations of Sepultura and some of the fans still not comfortable with Derrick Green. After the release of album “Dante XXI” from 2006, Max managed to extract also his brother Igor from his former band and “A-Lex”, the previous album released in 2009 introduced us the new drummer: Jean Dolabella. Bass player Paulo Jr. is the sole remaining member from the band’s debut album, although guitarist Andreas Kisser might be considered veteran as well while he joined the band in 1987 and his contribution was present since the band’s second album “Schizophrenia”. And well, Derrick fronting Sepultura for 14 years now…
“Kairos”, scheduled to be released on June 24, 2011, through Nuclear Blast Records, is a return to the straight, intense sound and approach of “Roorback” from 2003, a blending of hardcore rawness and nu metal strength, it’s a grinding, heavy, balanced and typically Sepultura flavored material. Asian Dub Foundation – A History Of Now (2011)

Asian Dub Foundation – A History Of Now (2011) I knew this will be one of my favorite albums of 2011 even before I’ve been listening into it. I saw them live back in 1999 and since I’m a follower. Playing an explosive mixture of rapcore, dub, dancehall and raggae, using rock instruments and including punk and hardcore influences, ADF are one of the killer acts of Great Britain beside The Prodigy and much recently Subsource. Intense and speeding serious social and political messages, live they will smash off any scene and move the audience, their studio albums maybe do not capture all that energy and explosion, but still they are much heavier than most of the other bands and even heavier than some of the so-called “modern”, alternative or post-metal bands. They unique style of blending hardcore energy, punk rawness, electronics and dub inspired many other artists, but not so many managed to get even closer, not to mention the issue of credibility. Agnostic Front – My Life My Way (2011)

The Godfathers of New York Hardcore returning with their tenth full-length studio album, following their previous release called “Warriors” from 2007.
The band was formed by guitarist Vinnie Stigma – formerly of the Eliminators -  in late 1980. Their debut EP, “United Blood”, released in 1983 on an indie label, has since become a collector’s item. At this time, the band consisted entirely of skinheads, although this would change over time, Agnostic Front would continue to feature skinheads as part of their line-up.
The first album, “Victim in Pain”, was realeased in 1984 and the band went to tour with The Exploited. The album pushed the band to the forefront of New York’s fledgling hardcore scene, which was centered around CBGB’s, where they played with bands like The Cro-Mags and Murphy’s Law.
1986’s “Cause for Alarm” was released on Combat Records, it added thrash metal influences. With other bands such as Suicidal Tendencies and Stormtroopers of Death, this album would mark AF’s foray into the world of crossover thrash. It also featured some lyrics written by Peter Steele and drumming by Louie Beateaux, both of Carnivore, Peter Steel later formed Type O’ Negative. Read more Agnostic Front – My Life My Way (2011)
