Bang! Vol I. compilation by Spastic

Bang! Vol I. compilation by Spastic Ladies and gentlemen! I only can hope that you are not so ladies and not so gentlemen, not that mainstream hipsters and not that fake anarchists who are populate the clubs, the subways, all the public and the private places nowadays, invaded our lives and overtaken the whole world. Well, there are still hope, while we all aware that not the hope dying last, but the idiot who are still hoping. Anyway! I actually just wanted to say that Spastic released his firs compilation album, it’s an epic collection of avant-garde/experimental, true-blood underground music, and hell yeah, it’s a free download, so, get your big fat or tight, tinny and skinny asses now and grab it from Sceptic’s Bandcamp page. It will blow your brains out.
It seems Mike Patton and John Zorn made a lot of followers and disciples while we’ve got 31 bands and lots of twisted out, sick stuffs to listening to. As a famous lyrics has said: “the only thing that’s missing is a bitch like you”, maybe only my project, Byzant At Sunset it’s missing from this release, but who knows, maybe next time we will fit in. But then again, this is exclusively my own little “problem” or frustration! The collection it’s flawless, each and every band deliver their own genuine thing and it’s a pretty sharp introspective of the state of the European alternative/underground scene A.D. 2013. Septic did an awesome job and a huge effort to put this compilation together and bring all these bands into our speakers or headphones. Read more Bang! Ihsahn – Das Seelenbrechen (2013)

Ihsahn - Das Seelenbrechen (2013)

Ihsahn - Das Seelenbrechen (2013) Considered traitor, labeled hipster, Vegard Sverre Tveitan, better known as Ihsahn and probably most famous for his work with Norwegian black metal band Emperor, is one of the most talented and creative, innovative artists of our times. “Das Seelenbrechen” it’s his fifth solo release follow-up of his 2012’s “Eremita”.
Some old fans who followed him also through this first two solo albums, “The Adversary” (2006) and “angL” (2008) were later parted away while Ihsahn became more and more experimental and less attached to the classic metal sound and borderlines. “After” (2010) and “Eremita” (2012) were step by step departures from the conventional metal structures and arsenal and more into avant-garde and experimentation, exploration of the unknown and unconventional. And this is the path where Ihsahn continue to go further. Read more Ihsahn – Das Seelenbrechen (2013)

DSO’s Dvorak Remix Contest

DSO's Dvorak Remix Contest

DSO's Dvorak Remix Contest I’m into the music “thing” since I was born, or, probably, from a few month earlier, and I started doing remixes a few years back after I quit being part of different bands I played with more then a decade. The remix contests nowadays are rarely about music, but about involving and putting up much as possible people to promote through their own social network the artist in question. It’s pity, it’s sad, it’s undeniable.
Now it’s one of the very rare cases when a remix contest it’s about the music and not the social networks. We’ve got 24 recorded, quality sounds to work with and create something special out of Dvorak’s 9th Symphony.
Antonín Leopold Dvořák (September 8, 1841 – May 1, 1904) was a Czech composer. Following the nationalist example of Bedřich Smetana, Dvořák frequently employed features of the folk music of Moravia and his native Bohemia – then parts of the Austrian Empire and now constituting the Czech Republic. Dvořák’s own style has been described as “the fullest recreation of a national idiom with that of the symphonic tradition, absorbing folk influences and finding effective ways of using them”.
Among Dvořák’s best known works are Read more DSO’s Dvorak Remix Contest

BLN – Moldern (2013)

BLN – Moldern (2013)

BLN – Moldern (2013) Some (so-called) specialists consider that the third album it’s the most important in the career of a musician or a band. While the debut album it’s like an introduction and a business-card, the second one defines more clearly the personality of the artist, the third it’s the album when critics and fans, the almighty audience, can decide if the artist worth our interest or it’s just another product of a saturated, cold and soulless industry.
BLN’s first, self-titled album was released after 13 long years of clubbing and gigging and BLN’s sound was more aggressive, he’s grooves where tensioned and contorted, his songs were filled with noisy and glitchy layers. At “Dizzy”, only one year after, BLN chilled down surprisingly, delivered a soft, more meditative IDM album leaving behind his industrial fueled, glitchy EDM roots. So, I was pretty curious in which direction BLN decided to took his ride this time. Read more BLN – Moldern (2013)

Gary Numan – Splinter [Songs From A Broken Mind] (2013)

Gary Numan – Splinter [Songs From A Broken Mind] (2013)

Gary Numan – Splinter [Songs From A Broken Mind] (2013) Mr. Numan is back! The 20th studio album by the British music genius got me by surprise while I was not expected a new release so soon, although “Dead Son Rising” was released in 2011, it feels like yesterday and generally, Numan get used us with a three and even longer gaps between albums. But I’m not complaining at all!! This is another brilliant album and I’m 101% excited about the new Numan songs and sound. And the perspectives are really promising with this one while the album reached No. 20 in the UK album charts, making it Numan’s highest charting album since “Warriors”, exactly three decades ago.
“Splinter” is the perfect mixture of my favorites elements from Numan’s last two albums “Jagged” (2006), respectively “Dead Son Rising” (2011). We’ve got those hypnotic, Oriental flavored melodies, some grinding and contorted noises and bone cutting heavy synth riffs and fantastic hooks, smart rhythmic structures and build-ups, so, everything what makes Numan so special, genuine and unforgettable. Cyberpunkers – Shock EP (2013)

cyberpunkers shock ep 2013

cyberpunkers shock ep 2013 Extra noisy and contorted sound, power beats, fancy drops and smart melodic hooks, Cyberpunkers are back with a solid three track EP out on Freakz Me Out Records. This time they deliver another fine collection of different moods, sounds, genres and tempos, but definitively extremely danceable tracks. “Shock” is a murderous clubbanger, firestarter, dance floor grinder. Probably the best one out of the three, but the whole EP is solid and these Italians still manage to put together some interesting songs while the new EDM scene – generally – is vapid, meaningless and bloody boring.
The “Cyberpunkers” project is the child, born in 2006, of the passion for Cyberpunk culture of two young Italian DJ’s. The format aims at giving a fresh start to this style. In a nutshell, a transposition of the Cyberpunk world in modern clubbing. Read more Cyberpunkers – Shock EP (2013)
