Taken By Cars – Dualist (2011)
Taken by Cars is a Filipino indie band and “Dualist” is their soft-more second full length album.
43 minutes, 11 tracks, a tasteful, indie pop, alternative dance mixture delivered by Sarah Marco on vocals, Bryce Zialcita on lead guitar, Derek “Siopao” Chua on rhythm guitar, Isa Garcia on bass guitar, and Bryan Kong on drums and sampler.
Founded in 2006, Taken by Cars made waves with their underground demo “A Weeknight Memoir (In High Definition)†which attracted attention and hit number one on a local rock radio station in Manila. They singed to the local indie label Party Bear Records and they released their debut album, “Endings of a New Kind,†under Warner Music distribution in early 2008. Crushing Axes – Ascension Of Ules (2011)
Crushing Axes actually it’s the one-man-band of Alexandre Rodrigues from São José dos Campos, Brazil.
He make annual virtual releases and the albums are always available for download. The lyrics explore themes like Norse mythology and the dark side of the human mind and soul while the music is a mixture of heavy, black, doom and death metal elements with many different other artifacts from folk to traditional and classic music. It’s an interesting and exciting blending of musics and elements, quite unique in a particular sense, Alexandre managed to create his own style and atmosphere.

Dir En Grey – Dum Spiro Spero (2011)
It has been passed 2 years and 9 months since “Uroboros”, Dir En Grey previous studio album and fans are quite on fire waiting their eight album. They can surpass themselves? Delivering 14 tracks and over one hour of music, “Dum Spiro Spero”, I think worth the waiting. Dir En Grey remains the same gloomy, impossible to label, but intense and contorted, genreless, but colourful music band, one minute they can sound like a psychotic death metal band and in the very next moment they just simply switch into a pop theme. Gomez – Whatevers On Your Mind (2011)
Ten tracks, the seventh studio album by Gomez has been born quite differently, it was demoed, written, arranged, and recorded over the Web, each of the members uploading ideas on which the others could work. It might be unusual, but while currently the band are spread out across 2 continents, split between the UK and US with Ian Ball residing in Los Angeles, Olly Peacock in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Paul Blackburn, Tom Gray and Ben Ottewell in Brighton, England, this working process comes quite naturally. But this working practices didn’t actually effect in any way the music of the band. NaRick – Suburban Industrial Landscape (2011)
Stumbled into at Absetzer by mistake or luck, “Suburban Industrial Landscape” is a quite contorted release balancing between powernoise grindings and trance themes, rhythm noise and industrial butcheries.
Eight tracks of intense aggression, no mercy. Interesting, good mixture of noisy elements and the more musical textures. In a club this rip off your head and still, it’s quite danceable.
This seems to be the third album from Russian one man band NaRick – Nariman Kagermanov -, including tracks written between 2009 and 2010.

Nitin Sawhney – Last Days Of Meaning (2011)
Nitin Sawhney made 9 studio albums, for which he has been nominated for a Mercury Music prize, won a MOBO, 2 BBC Radio 3 awards and a Southbank show award, amongst 15 others. He has scored over 40 films for cinema and television, with an Ivor Novello nomination for best score leading to his recent much acclaimed Orchestral music to the BAFTA nominated BBC series “The Human Planetâ€, Mira Nair’s recent film “The Namesakeâ€, two film scores for live performance by the London Symphony Orchestra and a biopic about Jean Charles De Menezes. He worked with Sting, Cirque Du Soleil, Shakira, Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck, Taio Cruz, Imogen Heap, Anoushka Shankar and many others and he also has been a regular Dj with London club “Fabricâ€. Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie single and Road Trippin Through Time promo (2011)
Five years are equal of a lifetime in the music industry nowadays. The “Road Trippin Through Time” is a radio station issued, promotion only CD featuring 18 of the band’s biggest hits from “Give It Away” to “Californication” and from “Soul To Squeeze” to “Tell Me Baby”, all of them from the Warner Brothers era and in radio edited format.
Since “Stadium Arcadium” John Frusciante left once again the band and he was replaced by Josh Klinghoffer who joined Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2007 on the final few legs of their Stadium Arcadium tour, performing additional guitar, backing vocals, and keyboard parts alongside the band.
The new album, entitled “I’m with You”, is schedule to be released August 30, 2011, introduced by the reminder of the band through the radio promo album and a new single: “The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie” released to radio on July 15, 2011 and available via iTunes. Bury Your Dead – Mosh N Roll (2011)
Stripped to the core, this is hardfuckingcore with heavy riffs, high-level fury and explosive, unleashed energy. Pantera/Machine Head like groove metal collide with Biohazard/Sick Of It All hardcore and the result is quite convincing. This is nothing, but “mosh’n’roll”, pure, pumping metalcore without any useless ornament, senseless sophism, just kick ass themes, cutting riffs and raw vocals.
Formed in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, in 2001, as a side project of the band Hamartia featuring Brendan “Slim†MacDonald – guitar and Mark Castillo – drums and recorded and released their debut album titled “You Had Me At Hello” in March 2002. After several tours, the band break up for a few month, but bass player Rich Casey re-unite Slim, Mark and they bring to the microphone Mat Bruso.
Since, the band been through several line-up changes, Bruso left the band in 2007, he was replaced by Michael Crafter for a short period, then by Myke Terry till January 2011 when Bruso came back and Terry was fired. Read more Bury Your Dead – Mosh N Roll (2011)
By My Hands – Growing Older Getting Colder (2011)
They said “Too Hardcore for the Metal kids .. and Too Metal for the Hardcore Kids” and this band from Glasgow, Scotland, UK sounds just like – in the most positive sense – any other furious gang from Brooklyn, especially they reminds me of Biohazard. Actually I was afraid of some cheap Metallica copy, you know – “Die by my hand, I creep across the land, Killing first-born man”, but it’s not the case, their 90’s crossover it’s just fucking great, they have groovy riffs, deep growling basses, pounding drums and raw vocals, it’s just bloody nice that they don’t have clean – pussy – vocals and don’t shoot the same boring screamo/metalcore cliches, By My Hands it’s nothing about, but rage and pure unleashed energy.
