Scheduled to be officially released on August 30th 2011, the sixth studio album by the Canadian quartet of women Kittie will blow right in your face. As always.
This line-up – Morgan Lander – lead vocals, Rhythm guitar, Mercedes Lander – drums, backing vocals, Ivy Vujic – bass and Tara McLeod – lead guitar – stand since 2008 and this is their second album and the girls delivered another set of 11 noisy, powerful and biting Metal tracks. These girls rocks hard as any boys and “I’ve Failed You” comes like whispering: kittie, kittie, kittie…. and bang!! – you don’t know what actually hits you.
Formed in 1996, by Mercedes Lander and Fallon Bowman in London, Ontario, Kitties rose to success in 1999 when the track “Brackish” from their debut album “Spit” became a hit single. In 2001, Fallon Bowman left Kittie and started a new project called Amphibious Assault. The next album, “Oracle” was recorded with Morgan Lander as the sole guitarist and later Jeff Phillips filled in as guitarist. One year later, Talena Atfield left and was replaced on bass by Jennifer Arroyo. In 2004, the group added guitarist Lisa Marx who replaced Jeff Phillips.
In 2005, both Lisa Marx and Jennifer Arroyo had left the band and Kittie added two new members: Tara McLeod on guitar and Trish Doan on bass.
In 2008 Kittie announced the departure of bassist Trish Doan due to the eating disorder anorexia, and Ivy Vujic officially became the new bass player. “I’ve Failed You” won’t disappoint any fans, this definitively not a failure, Kitties delivered a groovy, intense and modern Metal album. The girls got rhythm. 😀 And balls, nerve, riffs.
