On the other side of nothing there is Absolution. Stepping in the foot-prints of P.O.D., Godsmack, Drowning Pool and other acclaimed representatives of the post nu metal and alternative metal scene, this band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, delivering their second album. They heavily promoting themselves in support of their previous, critically-acclaimed EP “Theory Of Existence” sharing the stage with many great acts such as Ill Nino, Nonpoint, Drowning Pool, Tantric, Taproot, RED, Future Leaders Of The World, Ekotren, A New Revolution, Sick Puppies, Otep, CKY, Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry and many more, they gained an impressive following.
Powerful and melodic, passionate and adrenaline pumping, Absolution gained experience and reach its maturity.
The band started out making a name for themselves on the cover band circuit, playing rare, B side songs by: Tool, Sevendust, Faith No More, Pantera, Korn, Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, etc. Mark Wojtkiewicz – Vox, Jay Green – Guitars / Vox, Will Perna – Guitars, Brian McDonald – Bass and Tom Godin II – Drums / Vox bring into Absolution also the previous experiences gained in their former bands: Seventh Victim, Switchcase, Owen’s Grudge, Idoleyez and Full Circle. Hard work and heavy touring worked out for them, “The Other Side Of Nothing” it’s a heavy, pumping, gloomy, but still sparking material, they managed to write and record a couple of intense songs, this is a modern metal album, sometimes it sounds like Audioslave playing some Pantera songs. This is a promising step forward in the career of this band, it’s worth to keep an eye (and ear) on them.
