Polish artist Jacek Yerka was born in 1952. The two of his mothers and fathers are artists, so he grew up with the scent of paint and surrounded by paper, ink, paints and brushes. Yerka was thinking about studying astronomy or medicine, but identified paint appropriate before his last test and thus entered the mysterious entire world of colors. The artist was mostly inspired by XV century Dutch tablet paintings.
Think about all the uses you have for duct tape, masking tape, electrical tape, and packing tape, but we are confident you never thought of the use that Mark Khaisman did. Mark creates remarkable portraits out of packing tape. Mark weaves together layers of packing tape, using depth and direction of the layers to produce coloration and depth in the images. The results are stunning. The portraits have a colorful appearance similar to old tintype photographs, but with a patchwork feel to them, also. Mark does not stop with portraits. He creates wall sculptures featuring chairs, armor, and many other objects all created with packing tape.
You might believe anything can be fixed with a roll of duct tape and baling wire, but Mark Khaisman knows he can create almost any scene with just a simple roll of packing tape.
Dragons used to be part of life in many cultures. In Chinese culture, people worship dragon for rain and better weather for good harvest. An Emperor has great power as he’s considered as the incarnation of dragon. In Japanese culture the dragon is also a symbol of supernatural powers. That’s why dragon tattoo is loved by most of oriental people. For them, dragon represents strength, courage, wisdom, protector of their loved ones.
In Western cultures, dragons tend to be portrayed as embodiments of evil that destroy villages and guard hoards of treasure. In modern fantasy literature, dragons are often depicted as friends of man and as highly intelligent and noble creatures.
Due to its symbolic meanings, dragon tattoo is mostly inked on backs, side, arms. It’s also seen on legs, feet and hands.
Another clever art form is coming, that is album cover art. The visual pioneer is Christian Marclay. As for Marclay, I think most of us know him because of his music. Right, he is a famous DJ and composer who firstly uses gramaphone records and turntables as musical instruments to create sound collage. While besides, he likes collecting record covers of Michael Jackson, Doors, Donna Summer, David Bowie and many others to re-join new pieces. Christian Marclay might just take Bowie and put him together with MJ or the Black Eyed Peas. No sexism from his side, ladies are caught up in the mix as well. The following are some work from him. I’m they will give a fresh visual effect.
Julie Heffernan creates sensuous figurative painting, like co-Yale MFAS, John Currin and Linda Yuskavage, but her luminous oils are patently unique among them and most working artists today. A Victorian impetus to conjoin, edging toward pastiche, creates artfully staged Surrealist environments. Read more The vibrant world of Julie Heffernan
