Figure – Monsters Volume 5 (2014)

Figure - Monsters Volume 5 2014

Figure - Monsters Volume 5 2014 This is a monstrous trip back to my childhood’s worst nightmares. A journey on the wicked sound of post-dubstep EDM which bring back to life Pumpkinhead, Freddy Krueger and all the vicious mutant monsters and hell resident devils. And FIGURE (aka Josh Gard) knows what make us click, he crafted the most intense mixture of banging rhythms with massive bass drops and delivered once again a bloody sonic butchery!
Drawing inspiration from such classic horror as “It’s Alive” (1974), “Pumpkinhead” (1988), and Evil Dead (1981), and featuring an array of diverse artists including Kool Keith, Dirty Deeds, and Bitter Stephens, the newest installment of the “Monsters” series is a masterpiece fusion of horror iconography and massive bass.
In the hyper-evolutionary world of EDM, DJ/producer and drumstep champion Figure, is a force to reckon with. The Indiana native crafts a soundscape of dark and disturbing sonic stimuli, with a thread of melodic production that keeps listeners enthralled.
EDM/Heavy Bass producer and horror enthusiast FIGURE has released the fifth installment of his massively successful “Monsters” series today! With 13 massive tracks and featuring such diverse talent as D-Styles, Kool Keith, and Bitter Stephens, “Monsters Vol. 5” delivers all of the horror and bass that fans have come to expect, making the year long wait well worth the patience!

Josh Gard has a long history in music, and lately he has risen in the ranks of all things bass. Just a few short years ago he donned the name FIGURE and began making electro house, but has since become a regular name in all realms of electronic and dance. Scoring positions among the charts may have gotten him recognition, but a hefty amount of praise has been raining down on him lately as some of the leading artists in electronic music have valued his live performance skills as some of the best in the business.

“Terrorvision has been a concept I’ve been putting together for some time now, something I thought would go really well with my annual Monsters series.
I wanted to create the ability to compile tons of custom edited clips the same way I have compiled tons of music for my sets over the years. I’m a horror buff and I’ve amassed an extensive collection of classic shock theatre and obscure films which is definitely an inspiration for the visual direction on this tour.
Through partnering with Rane/Serato and using their hardware I now have the ability to map these custom visuals to my music on the fly, adding a brand new element to my live show. Many artists look at visuals as a way to simply customize the blank slates of wall behind them. WithTerrorvision it’s another dimension of my music. An intense visual backdrop giving my fans a window into where I draw inspiration; my vision as a producer, coming together on stage where the visuals brings it all to life.” – FIGURE
