Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School Of Medicine – White People And The Damage Done (2013)

Jello Biafra and The GSOM White People And The Damage Done (2013) Released on April 2, 2013 on Alternative Tentacles, the second studio album by Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School Of Medicine it’s a very strong, classy punk rock album filled with wicked guitar riffs, good sense of humor and social and political criticism. So, this is 101% Jello Biafra and “White People And The Damage Done” might be considered the orotund follow up of the Dead Kennedy’s 1987’s “Give Me Convenience OR Give Me Death”. No fillings, no fake s*it, no pop-punk (?!), no wasted or forgettable moments, but only true, honest, neat, punk rock. 54 year old Biafra shows that it’s still possible, and goddam it! it’s more alive and kicking then most of the self-proclaimed rebel and furious so-called musical products that the industry serve us nowadays.
So, shut up and shopping!! ( 😆 )This is something you definitively need to have it in your record collection!

Jello-Biafra

The very first thing Mr. Biafra feel he must share and sing it’s “We are the illuminazi! You’re the food chain we devour!”!! Illumi…nazi? Holly crap! These are the first two lines of “The Brown Lipstick Parade” (what a shit on your lips type of song title!! 😆 ) and the whole album it’s about corruption, illusions, politics, failures and …austerity.
Mr. Biafra and his killer crew delivered the best punk rock album in years. We’ve got guitarists Ralph Spight (Victims Family, Freak Accident) and Kimo Ball (Freak Accident, Griddle, Mol Triffid), bassist Andrew Weiss (Rollins Band, Ween, Butthole Surfers, more) and drummer Paul Della Pelle (Helios Creed, Nik Turner’s Space Ritual, and Philly HC legends Ruin).
The album was produced by Marshall Lawless and Matt Kelley (lots of Jello projects, Hieroglyphics, The Coup, Digital Underground, Zen Guerrilla, Victims Family) and sounds raw, clean, fresh and alive, just as any rock related album should sounding.
Winston Smith’s cover image is hard to forget and hard to ignore, and – once again – it’s so Biafta/Dead Kennedy’s taste like as the whole album.

“Wake up and smell the noise
We can’t take it anymore
Corporate rule must go
We will Occupy
We will Shock-U-py
And we won’t back down”

Tracklist:

The problem with these ten songs it’s that all of them are equally good, unforgettable, ass-kicking punk rock anthems.
