Slide On Venus – Put music to your troubles, EP (2010)

Formed in 2007, Slide On Venus* from Besançon, France merging power pop, indie, pop punk and high-energy rock elements in their groove oriented, electrifying music. Their third EP “Music To Put Your Troubles” released in November 2010 consist of five dynamic, pulsing, high-end and absolutely positive songs, beside their declared influences, reminds me a little bit also of OK Go, and not only because these French guys are singing in English, but their sound and music is quite American.
“California Saturday Ghost”, “Tongue and Blood”, or the smoother, softer “Aurora” are quite catchy songs, this positive vibe just feels alright.

“Since the release of their first album “Pixel” in 2008, the four French guys spread around their « Stadium Power Pop » which is a punchy, fresh, smiling and passionate power rock influenced by bands such as Foo Fighters, Bloc Party, Paramore or Biffy Clyro. The band toured a lot all around France and was quickly invited on stages such as EMI’s Theater in Paris, after being selected among more than 1800 French artists. In 2009, a track was edited on the American compilation “The Power Pop Overthrow Vol.3” (272Records, Hollywood, USA) which was broadcasted in the US and played by more than 25 Californian radio stations.
Slide on Venus* quickly decided to go further. In 2009, the band dashes into the recording of a new EP at the Le Pavillon Studio (France) and supervised by Flavien Van Landuyt. The result is 4 new tracks which were mastered by Kim Rosen who already worked for bands such as Fall Out Boys and Franz Ferdinand.
This second EP called “David Bowie was right…” was well acclaimed by the critics and the fans and the band started to sold out some shows and opened for bands such as Asian Dub Foundation, Izia (FR), Shakaponk or Buena Vista Social Club. Even Paramore’s lead singer, Hayley Williams, supported the band, holding a CD in front of the french crowd while playing in Paris on November, 2009!” (Official Bio)
