Nate Allen sounds pissed off. I said pissed off? Very pissed off. “Emergency” is a killer track, and not the only one out of 15 brand new genuine Punk anthems. And I would accentuate the word genuine. This is absolutely honest and breathing music, nothing sounds fake, prefabricated, predictable and tasteless, empty. They put lot of soul and energy into this. This time Nate and Tessa are backed-up by a full band and this definitively gave a plus energy to this songs. And not at least in this dark times, this is fun. What the hell, we talk occasionally On the Internet, don’t we?
Destroy Nate Allen started as the solo/quiet acoustic musings of Nate Allen and has evolved and twisted into a two piece Rock’N’Roll attack, sharply focused on showing people a good time.
Combining Tessa’s impulsive theatrical urges with Nate’s love for early 90′s Pop Punk, DNA play Folk music like Punk Rock and definitively they make you sing, laugh and dance, buy another beer down in the club, and eventually buy their CD.
Since 2006, they have set foot in forty-eight states, released six full length albums, and played over 700 shows. Spent the majority of their time on the road, lighting up one room at a time with their interactive, sing-a-long music, and their contagious joy and energy makes them unique and unstoppable bringing the good time with simply two voices and a guitar.
Destroy Nate Allen decided to try something different for their seventh full length, “With Our Powers Combined.” They asked Gnarboots (Asian Man Records: former members of Link 80 + Shinobu) to add a full band dose of crazy – and it worked!
“With Our Powers Combined” features DNA’s fun captured in a whole new and stunning form. Around 2 minutes long, energy full, fun and memorable, sing-a-long songs full of simple, but efficient hooks.
The album was fan funded via kickstarter album pre-orders, and was then recorded to 2” tape by Jack Shirley (Comadre) at The Atomic Garden (Classics of Love, Joyce Manor, Broadway Calls).
“We have a blast traveling together and playing rock n’ roll, but we’ve had trouble capturing our live energy so we asked our friends for help,” stated Nate. “We flew to the Bay Area and tracked fifteen songs in three days. We were able bring in a horn section (SKA!!!!) to pull off wild concepts that went beyond the scope of our traditional stripped down approach. We are proud of the album and we can’t wait to show everyone!”
Destroy Nate Allen plan to be on tour the better part of 2012 supporting the release, so watch out and don’t miss them!
