Rhian Sheehan – Seven Tales of The North Wind (2011)

Rhian Sheehan predominantly writes music for film and Television, his music has also appeared regularly on BBC television programming, including Top Gear, and has been used for a variety of TV commercials and movie trailers and short films worldwide.He composed the soundtrack to the UK’s National Space Centre’s We Are Astronomers, a 360° Full Dome Film narrated by Doctor Who’s David Tennant which is currently screening in digital planetariums around the world, as also composed the score to the 13 part prime-time TV Drama series “The Cult”,and the Emmy Award winning series “Reservoir Hill”.

Rhian Sheehan is a New Zealand based producer of cinematic styled music who is known for his unique melding of experimental electronica with orchestral music and environmental sound recordings. His debut album ‘Paradigm Shift’ (LOOP Recordings) is regarded as a landmark in New Zealand electronica and was released with much acclaim in the UK. His 2009 album “Standing in Silence” is a step away from his earlier ‘downbeat’ work into more of a shoegaze and post-rock ambient soundtrack direction and the album has received much acclaim internationally. Sheehan’s work has featured on variety of international CD compilations, most notably the multi-platinum selling Cafe del Mar CD compilations (vol 10 & 11).

“Seven Tales of The North Wind” is a Limited Edition Single CD containing 33 minutes of music in 7-tracks. Well, this new material have a kind of frozen air atmosphere, cinematic soundscapes with delicate interwoven ambient melodies overlapping each other in a nice and quiet musical meditation. It’s an absolutely relaxing music to listen, soft, gentle and beautiful, delicate returning to his original roots.
