Jack… Jack… Jack. 😀 AC/DC anybody? Who’s got the jack? 😀
Well, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, recording on “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” began during the “Beggars Banquet” sessions of 1968, but it was not released on that album, although it was released as a single same year. “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” has been featured in many films, including Martin Scorsese’s “Mean Streets” (1973), in Ron Howard’s “Night Shift” and at the end of Terry Gilliam’s “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, and on several Rolling Stones compilation albums.
On the other hand, looking at the CD cover it’s no way not to think of “Old No.7” – sure you know what I’m talking about…
These guys are not from Tennessee, but from Nantes, France.
Released originally in 2009, “Cow & Whisky” was re-issued on Deadlight Entertainment. Julian on guitars and vocals, Manu on bass Chris on drums, since 2009 delivering good old fashioned rock/metal inspired both by modern and older influences from 70’s rock and metal. Imagine something between Down/Pantera and Soundgarden from “Badmotorfinger”: it’s strong, absolutely positively primitive rock with roots back to Stoner and Southern rock.
Quite impressive, “Cow & Whisky” and it’s 6 songs are an excellent ride, Jumping Jack simply rocks and kick! Play it loud and get up for a ride!
