From time to time I support some debutant/new comer bands, I give them a chance. I think this is the mission of any web-zine. Far as I know “djent” it’s not – yet – officially a new genre, and well, I’m not an expert in death metal – generally speaking, although, have a few favorites.

I enjoy some of the bands you showcase but this and other articles shows me you need to be more clear with your descriptions. All three of these bands are chug-a-thon warriors that are poor to decent attempts at djent. Yet not only do you not mention that, but you make it sounds like the bands are death metal, black metal, and hardcore punk. At best their are some death metal leads and random death metal-ish riffing but the core of all these songs is djent groove driven- not death metal, hardcore punk, or black metal.

I love the Illogistical Resource Dept tracks – the music is both out there and in there – it’s got a different yet familiar vibe to it and every time I listen I hear something new. Great band.
