Zardonic ft. Mikey Rukus - Bring It On (NBC WSOF 2015 Theme) (2015)

Bring It On 2015 Hip Hop/Rap meets wicked metal with dense electronic support. It’s intense and unstoppable as any genuine anthem should sound. And trust me, it will hit you right in your face and it will hit you hard!
International Electronic Metal Producer ZARDONIC has brought his signature aggressive bass to the the extreme sports and fighting world with his newest single “Bring It On (Feat. Mikey Rukus)”, out now on legendary eOne Music. Not for the feint of heart, the now NBC MMA World Series of Fighting main theme is a hard-hitting, unapologetic electronic metal anthem with distorted extreme guitars and bellicose lyrics from MMA music legend Mikey Rukus.
This is an example of the direction we’re taking for the new Zardonic album on eOne. Working with Mikey Rukus was an absolute pleasure and thanks to James Jeda CEO of Rocktagon Worldwide we put this insane collaboration together four months ago, and now it’s the Main Theme of World Series Of Fighting and is being heard by millions all over the world on NBC. I’m yet to know what it means to be happier than this! – ZARDONIC Read more Zardonic ft. Mikey Rukus – Bring It On (NBC WSOF 2015 Theme) (2015)

Komara – Komara (2015)

Komara – Komara (2015)

Komara – Komara (2015) I started listening this material totally blind. Did not have a clue who these guys are and what kind of experimental/progressive rock they will deliver. The cover art work kind of make me think of Tool (the videos for “Sober” and “Prison Sex” from their brilliantly wicked 93’s “Undertow” album) – but in a bad way. I almost skip the album because this horrible cover. Glad I didn’t!
“Dirty Smelly” have a kind of healthy, driven Faust flavour and starts just like a Nine Inch Nails song left off from the “With Teeth” album or like “Driver Down” from the “Lost Highway” soundtrack. It’s pure alchemy and unleashed Magick! From the second track on I was intensively haunted by the feeling of the Miles Davis/Marcus Miller collaboration “Music from Siesta” (1987). With the last but one track, “Afterbirth” the Faust/Nine Inch Nails feeling it’s back. The best 47 minutes I spend lately and I admit, it’s the only record I’m spinning around ever since. And most probably it will be hard to change it with something else in the near future.
“Komara” it’s an intense, refreshing experience and the living proof that the music it’s not as dead as we might think while we’re listening to the radio.
Then I read the info and I find out who are the guys playing in Komara. Read more Komara – Komara (2015)

eyeswithoutaface – Dead Friends EP (2015)

eyeswithoutaface Dead Friends EP 2015

eyeswithoutaface Dead Friends EP 2015 Released on 11 July 2015, the new EP from the Canadian project eyeswithoutaface brings brutality to the next level. Their rough and contorted mixture of post-industrial electronics with sludge/black/death metal leave the listener without any option, but to love or hate this sonic slaughter. Extreme metal at its best!! Related to Malhavoc, Godflesh and other alike oddities, eyeswithoutaface was formed in 2009 in Toronto, Canada, comprised of current members of Homolka, Kosmograd, John XII, Ancress and more.
They avowed that they are “somewhat inspired by a broad range of artists both within and outside of the doom/sludge, post-industrial, electronic and hip hop genres, and are sometimes compared to artists such as Godflesh, Nine Inch Nails, Swans, Red Harvest and Genghis Tron.”
And their music it’s quite complex and disturbing. I wrote about their debut album “Monotoneoteny” back in 2011 and they made it to my list of favorite releases of the year. They have something of their own and they explore musical places where nobody else dared to drift before. Sometimes this make the journey difficult, but keep it exciting throughout. PNL – Pegazusok Nem Léteznek

PNL - Pegazusok Nem Léteznek

PNL - Pegazusok Nem Léteznek Music it’s dead. Too many times too many people stated this to matter anymore. I gave up on music lately because everything sound like something I already heard and I’m pretty bored. And tired.
Pegazusok Nem Léteznek it’s a relatively new Hungarian band and reminds me of Nine Inch Nails, respectively How to Destroy Angels. Pop music. Modern, consistent pop music, not that fancy lemonade!
It’s a little bit gloomy, a little bit indie, electronic and sometimes shoe gazing – or meditative if you prefer, minimalist, but catchy. It’s a strange dream, but you don’t wanna wake up from it.
Eszter Ács – vocals and keyboards, Domokos Lázár – guitar and vocals, Lázár Ágoston – drums and Róbert Németh – bass guitar find something beautiful, something of their own.
I stumbled into them accidentally while I was digging up news about one of my old favorites: Európa kiadó. Read more PNL – Pegazusok Nem Léteznek

Van Halen – Women And Children First (1980) (Remastered 2015)

Van Halen – Women And Children First (1980) (Remastered) (2015)

Van Halen – Women And Children First (1980) (Remastered) (2015) “Women and Children First” was the third studio album by the American rock band Van Halen, released on March 26, 1980 on Warner Bros. Records. Generally speaking, the third album of a band it’s crucial, while the first might be an accident and the second a sequel of that, the third generally proves if that band have something to say or they never really had. In the particular case of Van Halen, “Women and Children First” was really a turning point of their career and the moment when the boys grown up and became men. “Women and Children First” rocks your s*it off. Literally. And their both previous albums were hard as a rock!
Kerrang! magazine listed the album at #30 among the “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time”. If you never heard the duo of “Tora! Tora!”/”Loss Of Control” you have definitively wasted your life or you’re in the wrong place! Or if you never had partying on “Could This Be Magic?”. “Tora! Tora!” it’s blacker then Black Sabbath and “Take Your Whiskey Home” bring the blues to a brand new level of… aggression. Not to mention “And The Cradle Will Rock…” which is an absolutely rock classic!
My mom had this one on vinyl, “Loss Of Control” and “Everybody Wants Some!!” were among my favorite songs beside “Rapid Fire” (by Judas Priest) and “Ace of Spades” (by Motorhead) – all of them songs of 1980!! Afterward I bought “Fair Warning” as well. The rest is history! Read more Van Halen – Women And Children First (1980) (Remastered 2015)

Meredith – Meredith III, EP (2015)

Meredith - Meredith III, EP (2015)

Meredith - Meredith III, EP (2015) Guitarist/singer Fred Lefranc and drummer Ben Delacroix are back with their third installment, a four track EP.
The previus EP, released last year “The Shape Of Things To Come” was an intense, modern mixture of alternative rock and metal with roots back to grunge and garage/noise rock. Now they sound more consolidated, mature if you prefer. The raw fury is there, but it got a polished make-up now which don’t mean they get any softer. The two guys managed to create a complex and intense music and surprisingly they filled up the spaces smartly, everything it’s nicely balanced. Rebels with cause – if you know what I mean.
I always liked about Meredith that they sound passionate and personal, they open up honestly and sometimes bring up unpleasant subjects like abuses or domestic violence with fair simplicity. Can’t fix issues if we refuse to step up and speak up. Read more Meredith – Meredith III, EP (2015)
